Post subject: Help on a trip
Archived from groups: rec>boats>paddle (more info?)

I am planning a trip to NC or TN on the week of Jul 24 with wife and son
(17), my plan is to tent camp on one spot, close to a river, preferable with
no RV's next to us, and kayak every day different sections, we have done
some kayaking here on Miami but always on lakes and the ocean (no high
waves) we consider our self advance beginners, what do you recommend (we
have our own kayaks, 3 Eskimos Diablo)

Thanks

Re: Kayak for unsupported trip - It depends a lot on what rivers and what time of year. Cold weather and lots of required gear will need a bigger boat than most of what is available today. I, and most of the group I paddle with, have used Perception Overflow for for 8 or 9 years of..
